How domain purchases work

The marketplace coordinates domain purchase requests, availability review, payment access, and registrar-based transfer. Each step is handled in a fixed order.

Buyer process

Six steps from first enquiry to confirmed ownership transfer.

  1. 1

    Browse available domain listings

Open the catalogue and filter by category, extension, price range, or status. Each card shows the asking price, seller type, and short description.

  2. 2

Submit a purchase request or offer

Send a purchase request at the listed price. Or submit an offer with your proposed amount and a short note.

  3. 3

Marketplace verifies availability and seller control

We confirm the domain is still available and that the seller controls it in the registrar account on file. Inconsistent listings are rejected at this stage.

  4. 4

    Transfer readiness is confirmed

We check the registrar setup for transfer locks, recent ownership changes, and any settings that would block a smooth move.

  5. 5

Payment is completed through an external hosted payment page

After review, the buyer receives a payment link to an external hosted page provided by an approved third-party provider. The marketplace does not collect card details directly.

  6. 6

Transaction records are updated after transfer confirmation

Once the registrar confirms the ownership change, the order status moves to completed. The vendor payout step is unblocked.

Payment and transfer control

Payment access is provided only after domain availability, seller control, and transfer readiness are reviewed. Vendor payout is processed after successful transfer confirmation according to the applicable marketplace terms.

The marketplace does not act as a payment processor and does not collect or store card details directly. Payment handling is performed by approved third-party providers.

Domain transfer methods

Ownership moves through the registrar workflows below. The method depends on the registrar setup of both parties.

Account push

The domain is moved to the buyer’s account inside the same registrar. Usually the quickest option when both parties use the same provider.

Authorisation code transfer

The vendor provides an EPP authorisation code. The buyer initiates an inbound transfer at their preferred registrar.

Registrar-supported ownership update

Where the registrar supports it, ownership is updated inside the existing account using the registrar’s standard procedure.
