Vendor payouts

How and when the marketplace processes a payout to a vendor after a successful domain sale.

When vendor payout becomes eligible

A vendor payout becomes eligible after the buyer payment is completed and the registrar confirms the ownership change. Until both events are on file, the payout step stays in pending state.

Eligibility does not imply a fixed timeline. The actual payout date depends on the checks below.

Domain availability and seller control review

Before a payout is scheduled, the marketplace re-confirms that the listing was correctly described and that the vendor controlled the domain throughout the sale period.

Issues found at this stage may delay the payout while the marketplace contacts the vendor for clarification.

Transfer readiness confirmation

The marketplace verifies that the registrar transfer completed cleanly: no rollback, no chargeback signal from the payment provider, and no disputed authorisation code.

Where a transfer is reversed or disputed, the payout is put on hold until the underlying issue is resolved.

Marketplace or service fee deduction

The agreed marketplace fee is deducted from the gross sale amount. The fee structure for the listing was visible to the vendor at submission time and is reflected on the listing record.

Where a third-party payment provider applies its own processing fee, that amount is also deducted. The vendor payout figure is the remaining net amount.

Payout after successful transfer confirmation

Once the checks above are complete, the net amount is sent to the vendor using the payout method on file. The payout timing follows the applicable marketplace terms agreed at listing approval.

Payouts may be split or staged where the underlying transfer is processed in multiple parts.

Payout status records

Every payout has a status record visible to the vendor: not applicable, pending transfer confirmation, pending payout, paid, on hold, or cancelled.

The vendor can request the full audit trail of a specific payout by contacting the marketplace team using the vendor enquiry channel.

Vendor payout follows successful transfer confirmation according to the applicable marketplace terms. The marketplace is not a payment processor and does not act as a regulated escrow provider.
